Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program: Watershed Resilience

Funding purpose: Established to increase the environmental resilience of agricultural landscapes by accelerating the adoption of on-farm land use and beneficial management practices, this program is for Manitoba Watershed Districts only.

Livestock Predation Prevention Program: Predator Resistant Fence Construction

Funding purpose: Created to accelerate adoption of non-lethal, on-farm measures that reduce the risk of livestock predation by wolves, coyotes, bears and other predators, this program provides funding for the construction of predator resistant fencing at calving areas, pastures, extending grazing areas and deadstock compost sites.

Application deadline: Dec. 8, 2026.

Capital Infrastructure and Investments

Funding purpose: Designed to support growth in Manitoba’s agri-processing sector through large-scale capital investments that improve efficiency, productivity, sustainability, technology adoption, market access, and business growth, this special intake supports large capital equipment projects with a minimum project value of $1 million.

Interested applicants can contact Manitoba Agriculture at agriculture@gov.mb.ca or 1-800-811-4411 to arrange a discussion to see if your project is eligible. If deemed a fit, the department will invite you to submit a full proposal. Alternatively, you may be contacted directly by Manitoba Agriculture, based on the department’s awareness of your project.

Application deadline: Applications will be assessed as they are received until Dec. 31, 2026, or until all available funding has been allocated.

Manitoba Agriculture has updated many livestock and forage calculators designed to provide producers with planning resources, decision-making tools and a format for calculating costs of production. Adjust these newly updated budgets with your figures for a clearer financial picture of your farm business.

As wild birds migrate this fall, the risk of Avian Influenza increases for domestic poultry. Poultry owners should maintain strong biosecurity measures to help protect their flocks. This includes preventing contact with wild birds, limiting visitor access, regularly cleaning and disinfecting coops and equipment, and wearing clean clothing and footwear when caring for birds. If you notice signs of respiratory illness or unexplained deaths in your flock, contact your veterinarian or Manitoba’s Chief Veterinary Office at 204-945-7663 in Winnipeg for assistance.
